This just in! The new news director at CBS47 and FOX30 Action News, Bob Longo, will be meeting Jacksonville’s PR community for coffee and doughnuts on Friday, March 14, and you are invited.
This informal session is co-sponsored by Critical Mention and North Florida PRSA. It will be held at St. John & Partners, 5220 Belfort Road at 9:30 a.m. Admission is free. RSVP here, or email [email protected]
Longo joined CBS47 and FOX30 Action news in late January, following five years as news director at the award-winning Orlando newsroom of WESH and WKCF, where he managed coverage of the Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman stories, among others. He is an avid proponent of the use of social media in news and built powerful Facebook and Twitter communities in Orlando that, at times, even exceeded over-the-air viewership.
Prior to Orlando, Longo was Peabody-winning news director at top-rated stations in Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Binghamton. A native of upstate New York, Longo earned his journalism degree at Utica College of Syracuse University.
Join Bob March 14 as he lays out his vision for aggressive local news gathering and storytelling in Jacksonville:
